2. Scope
This privacy policy applies to the Android app LarasCalendar. It informs you in accordance with Art. 13 GDPR about the type, scope, purpose and legal basis of the processing of personal data within the app.
3. Core principle: fully offline
LarasCalendar is a fully offline analysis app for calendar files:
- no user account,
- no cloud storage, no cloud sync,
- no automatic upload of your calendar data, events, attendee information or analyses,
- no integration with Google Calendar, Outlook, iCloud or other calendar providers (in the current MVP),
- no advertising,
- no in-app telemetry, analytics or crash reporting linked to a person,
- no tracking cookies or advertising IDs,
- no connections to social-media services or external analytics providers.
The app does not initiate any network connections on its own. It does not require Internet access for its core operation.
4. Data processed
LarasCalendar processes the following data exclusively on your device:
| Data category | Source | Processing |
|---|---|---|
| ICS calendar content (VEVENT entries: title, start/end, UID, attendees if present) | ICS file you load manually or demo data | parsing and analysis inside the browser or WebView |
| Computed metrics (total meeting time, busiest weekday, weekly heatmap, most frequent meeting series) | derived from the ICS content | transient computation, optionally rendered as a report preview |
| Report preview (HTML / text for PDF / share preview) | derived from the metrics | transient or local within the app |
Note: by default the app does not persist loaded ICS content on the device — processing is limited to the session. If this changes in a future version, this policy will be updated accordingly.
5. Local processing of ICS files
You load an ICS calendar file manually into the app. The file is parsed and analysed exclusively on the device (see functions in section 4). No ICS content is transmitted to LarasDesk servers, to Google, Outlook, Apple or any other third parties.
The current MVP supports demo ICS content and a limited set of VEVENT fields (DTSTART/DTEND, TZID, UID, SUMMARY, folded lines, cancellations). RRULE recurrence expansion is not implemented; meeting series are grouped by normalised title.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of a contract — provision of the analysis function).
6. PDF / share preview
The app generates a report preview in HTML / text format. A native PDF file is not created in the current MVP. The preview contains the computed metrics but not the raw ICS content.
Sharing the preview via the Android share sheet is an action triggered by you. How the receiving app (e.g. email, messenger, cloud storage) handles the data is outside LarasCalendar's control — please consult the privacy policy of the respective receiving app.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
7. App permissions
The current MVP does not request any sensitive Android permissions. In particular, no access is requested to:
- the Google Calendar or any other system calendar,
- contacts,
- location,
- camera or microphone.
The ICS file is selected through the Android system file picker; Android grants you a one-time read permission for the selected file.
8. Third-country transfers
LarasCalendar does not initiate any network connections on its own. Therefore, there is no third-country transfer.
When you share a report preview via the Android share sheet, the data processing of the receiving app you choose is outside LarasCalendar's control.
9. Legal bases at a glance
| Processing | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Local ICS parsing | Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (contract performance) |
| Metric computation and preview | Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR |
| App function and security in general | Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR |
10. Storage duration
In the current MVP, loaded ICS content and computed metrics are only held for the duration of the session. They disappear when you close or restart the app.
Uninstalling the app additionally removes all app data permanently.
11. Your rights as a data subject
Under GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Objection (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
Because LarasCalendar does not transmit any personal data to LarasDesk and the MVP only processes session data, access and erasure requests can be satisfied by closing the app or clearing app data in the Android system settings.

13. Changes to this policy
This policy may be amended when the app's functionality changes (e.g. when persistent local storage, integration with calendar providers or file-import functions are added). The current version is available at the URL linked above.
